ENFIELD - Local fire departments and a towing company Thursday afternoon pulled a car out of the Connecticut River that slid off a ledge on Parsons Road Monday.

Bosco's Towing, with the help of the Thompsonville Fire Department using its hovercraft, pulled the SUV out of the river and up a steep bank to street level shortly after 3 p.m.

Kymberly Playdon, 41, of East Windsor, was driving on Parsons Road Monday morning in icy conditions when her car slid off the road, then down the embankment as she tried to get back onto the roadway.
