ENFIELD FIRE DEPTLocal fire departments and a towing company Thursday afternoon pulled a car out of the Connecticut River that slid off a ledge on Parsons Road in Enfield Monday. Kymberly Playdon, 41, of East Windsor, was driving on Parsons Road Monday morning in icy conditions when her car slid off the road, then down the embankment. Firefighters rescued Playdon after she spent around 40 minutes in the icy water. She was transported Monday to an area hospital for treatment of hypothermia. ENFIELD - Local fire departments and a towing
company Thursday afternoon pulled a car out of the
Connecticut River that slid off a ledge on Parsons Road
Monday.
Bosco's Towing, with the help of the Thompsonville Fire
Department using its hovercraft, pulled the SUV out of the river
and up a steep bank to street level shortly after 3 p.m.
Kymberly Playdon, 41, of
East Windsor, was driving on Parsons Road Monday morning in
icy conditions when her car slid off the road, then down the
embankment as she tried to get back onto the roadway.
Firefighters rescued Playdon after she spent around 40 minutes
in the icy water. Enfield Fire Department Capt. Don Ellis waded
into the river and help Playdon get on board the hovercraft.
Playdon was transported Monday to an area hospital for treatment
of hypothermia.
